Arrived on Gili Travangan! (Route: Nusa Lembongan – Gili Travangan)
Boom. Gili Travangan has changed a lot since Nicolas’s last visit in 2011. After some searching, we found a cheap room (150’000/Night) a bit north and away of the party area. Later, we spent some hours exploring the island by foot and checked out the Dive Schools, since we wanted to dive on the following day. We chose Manta Diving and ate a snapper at the night market, which was unfortunately not baked enough and fortunately, we found a Martabak Manis (thick Pancake with Nutella) to fill our stomachs with.
The diving around the Gili’s is not nearly as good as in Lembongan or in Pulau Weh – after two dives, we decided that the Gili’s weren’t worth our money for and searched an office to organize a trip to Labuan Bajo in Flores.

Finally in Labuan Bajo (Route: Gili Travangan – Lombok – Sumbawa – Flores)
We started our long journey to Flores on Sunday at 8am, taking a ferry to Lombok and a bus to Mataram, where we had to wait until 3pm and booked a trekking for Gunung Rinjani after we’ll come back from Flores (2.-4. April).
25 hours later, we arrived in Labuan Bajo in Flores. We took a ferry from Lombok to Sumbawa, slept in a nightbus that drove through Sumbawa, had to change the bus at 5am, and took another ferry until 4pm.

Liveaboard with Ora Dive
On our trip to Labuan Bajo, we had the change to meet Jorge, a very nice student from Argentinia who tought that he had forget his wallet on the Gili’s and went back and let his girlfriend, Maira, travel alone one day before while he traveled with us. Since they also wanted to dive in Labuan Bajo and because Maira had a lot of time waiting for Jorge, she scanned the dive shops for us and found a nice 3D/2N Liveaboard from a small dive shop called Ora Dive (4 Mio p.P). After looking at the material and the map with the dive sites, we decided to do this trip and spent 3 wonderful days on a boat, dived 3 times per day, enjoyed sunsets, saw old&young Komodo Dragons on Komodo island and had a really good time. The captain was in the same time cook, then we had a captain for the small boat (“Dingi”) and one guy who cleaned the boat and did the dishes (“Bootsjunge”) – in total 8 people. I can highly recommend such a trip, especially with a small crew which makes it very familiar.
